How does our product work?
Speech is transcribed live, with a short delay, and captions are overlaid on the broadcast. After the meeting the transcript is corrected against the official minutes and published.
The live captions are explicitly marked as unverified. The minutes remain the authoritative record.
Overview
Broadcasting meetings without captions excluded anyone who is deaf or hard of hearing from the thing broadcasting was supposed to open up.
The searchable transcript turned out to matter almost as much: it is now the most used route into the archive, for journalists and residents alike.

System description
A glossary of member names, ward names and recurring policy terms is supplied to the recogniser before each meeting, which removes the large majority of errors that previously made transcripts hard to follow.
